Friend and composer, Eugene Marlow, wrote a short piano piece in 2000, which after hearing for the first time, I asked if I could arrange for my group. Well, two years later, after “picking at it” off and on for much of those two years, I decided to sit down in the spring of 2002 and really work on it. While it is probably more accurate to call my treatment a transmutation or fantasy rather than an arrangement, I’ve incorporated some elements of Gene’s wonderful original piece directly into this version.
