Numinous at 25
numinous adj. divine, spiritual; inspiring awe & reverence (Oxford English Dictionary, 2nd ed)
The year 2025 is the 25th year of Numinous! Over the year I will be offering some insights and reflections on those twenty-five years of making music with Numinous and the wonderful projects, incredible musicians, friends, and collaborators over the years. As I think about where I was in 2000—the musical dreams and hopes I had then, and where I am now—it’s amazing seeing how that long path, with its success, failures, doubts, and serendipity, has brought me and my music today to a place I did not imagine I’d be at back then! In 2025 I am very excited to continue on that path toward those dreams and hopes, and realize new ones beyond what I imagine!
During our 20th year I did a similar #numinous20 look back, which coincided with the global pandemic. And like that year, but for different reasons as I work and focus time and resources on other directions and projects, our 25th, sadly, will not feature any respective performances (although I would LOVE to revisit my piece Vipassana since 2025 is also the 20th anniversary of its premiere). But I am hoping 2026 will bring a return with some premiering!
